This site is pleasantly situated next to an orchard amid carefully tended fields, with a superb view of Tennyson Down. The walk to the beach is through country lanes or across fields. Nearest popular beach is Totland Bay, approximately 15 minutes walk. Freshwater Bay is 1 1/4 miles, Alum Bay 2 miles and Colwell Bay 1 mile from the camp site. The beach at Totland is sandy, large and good for swimming. Stroud Playing Field and Totland Recreation Ground are both a short walk away and suitable for cricket etc.
Freshwater is the best shopping centre on West Wight and is 10 minutes walk from the camp site. Freshwater also has a modern indoor swimming pool and leisure centre with tennis courts nearby. Bus services to places of interest near and far are available from Freshwater. West Wight is doubly blessed with not only a superb coastline but hundreds of acres of unspoilt countryside to explore. Yarmouth Pier is approximately 3 miles distant.
